My professor got back to me about a rather lengthy story that kind of set the tone to what my collection was going to be about. The problem? I've been challenged to cut my 30 page story down to 18. I feel like I just got a papercut, but you know what I'm going to step up to this challenge because I've been wanting to submit this story to places and it's always been too long.
I've been reading Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison and it has been blowing my mind. You know how sometimes you read a book and it seems like a blueprint for your own life? No? Just me, then? Well, that's the kind of feels I have for this book.
I also started a Facebook page for my writer persona and added everyone that is related to me, knows more than just my name, and who owe me favors... probably. Sounds like a good way to start a readership base!
